...But I'm the tragedy Juliet who dies of love.

Ridding me of all these things, so I can finally drink,
  Sayonara, Romeo!

You scream out the last line as the chorus plays for you. You feel relief, yet the pain in your heart would be hard to heal. Kaito had fallen for Miku. You didn't think you'd be so jealous, as you never considered what your feelings were towards him. You were childhood friends, and that was that, right? Yet, when SHE came, Miku...the way that Kaito looked at her, you could tell. He was in love. That's when you realized: YOU were in love with him. He was Romeo. You were Juliet. But your story became a tragedy when Cinderella arrived. He's gone, leaving you crying like the weak girl you were, the one that everyone wanted to protect.
You yell in frustration. "SCREW MY LIFE!"
"Hey, are you okay in there?" A voice asks. It's coming from your door.
"Len?!" You head over and open it, forgetting he had asked if he could come over.
"Whoa, what happened?!" He notices your probably red face dried with tears.
  "L-Len...I...Kaito...Miku...Romeo and Cinderella...Mirishira..."
"Hold on, start from the top. What about Kaito and Miku?" He holds your shoulders firmly and tries to calm you down.
You take a deep breath. "Now that Kaito and Miku are going out, I realize that I'm in love with him. I...I'm left all alone now..." Your body starts shaking. "I... I HATE BEING A JULIET!" You cover your face with your hands.
Len looks at you, wide-eyed. "Is that why you were singing Mirishira?"
"Y-yeeeees!" You burst into tears and hug Len, seeking comfort.
He pats your head and whispers, "It'll be okay..." It was the last thing you heard him say before you passed out of exhaustion.

When you wake up, you find yourself on your couch. Len's sitting on a chair next to you. "Oh, good! You're awake!" He gives you some water. "Here."
You accept it and drink heavily. "Thanks."
"No problem. So, you were venting by singing the Mirishira version of Romeo and Cinderella?"
"Yeah...pathetic, right?" You're embarrassed someone managed to catch you doing so.
"N-No, not at all! In fact..." Len looks away, as if making sure no one heard what he was about to say. He sighs, and says, "I did...the same l when I found out. About Miku and Kaito..."
Your eyes widen. "You had a thing for Miku?"
"I didn't think I did, but yeah. The way she smiled with Kaito...I lost it. It hit me like a bullet when I realized I loved her..."
Well, look at that. You two were in the same boat. "Unbelievable..." you say.
"It's getting harder each day, you know?" Len continues. "I loved her far longer than he did..."
"Same here. I'm the one who played with that stupid idiot when we were little. I shared ice cream with him...I stole his scarf to make fun of him..."
"I picked spring onions from the garden with her, I undid her pigtails to annoy her..." You look at each other, seeing the similarities that both of your problems had.
"Well, we should probably help each other out, getting over them...y'know?" you say, trying to break the tension.
"...Yeah," he agrees. "Let's go somewhere fun." He suggests. "Like...karaoke bar?"
  You oblige. "OK!"

The two of you head to the bar, determined to get rid of uneasy thoughts. How unlucky of you, Romeo and Cinderella are inside. They see you, and wave you in.
"Hey, you guys!" Miku smiles. For a brief second you envision her in a silk gown with her hair up. "Fancy seeing you here!"
"Y...Yeah." you reply.  You look to Kaito. The vision of him is in old fashioned nobility wear. You shake the thoughts out of your head. Then, as if a spark of logic hit you, you ask, "Wanna grab a room together?"
Miku and Kaito smile while Len stares bewilderedly. "That'd be great!" Kaito replies. "I'll go ask for one."
Kaito goes to the counter and Miku follows, while Len grabs your arm and turns you around. "What're you doing?!" He whisper-screams.
"If we can get to sing in front of our old crushes, then it'll be easier to get over them, right?"
"Eh?! What kind of logic does your brain run on?!"
"Brilliant logic!" You beam. You look to Kaito and he's gesturing for you and Len to follow. "Now let's go!" You grab Len's wrist and pull him to the other two waiting.

You reach the room and Kaito unlocks it with the key he got from the counter. He turns on the light, and you see all the necessities for a karaoke bar room; a large TV with the machine installed below it, microphones underneath, and a giant, beige leather couch that surrounds a table with set up tableware. You enter excitedly and plop on the couch.
A man comes to the door while everyone else settles in. "Hello, I'll be tending to your needs tonight. Would you folks like some drinks? Or something to eat, perhaps?" He asks, taking out a notepad.
Kaito grins, making your heart pound. "Does anyone want dinner?" He asks. You all order something and get the TV set up. Once the song selection appears, Miku thumbs through the corresponding song book.
"Let's see...I wanna go first, so...hm..." She muses, flipping and flipping. "'Rolling Girl...' 'World is Mine...' 'E? Aa, Sou...' Oh! 'Romeo and Cinderella!'"
"NO!" You and Len shout in unison. You look at each other, while Miku stares with surprise.
  "Why not?" She asks.
"Uh..." You reply. "Well, I-I've been listening to that song so many times, and even though it's really good, Miku..."
"...We both have it stuck in our head, it seems." Len finishes, saving both your butts.
"Oh, okay! No problem! I'll choose something else!" She smiles, going through the book again. You're surprised you convinced her.
The waiter comes back with everyone's orders, and Kaito jumps at his ice cream sundae. You face Len to thank him, but he's staring at Miku. "Len? Hey, Len!" You wave your hand in front of his face. That seems to catch his attention.
"H-Huh?" He looks to you. "What?"
  "Thanks for finishing my sentence."
"Oh, no problem..." He says, then turns back to Miku.
"Oh, here! I haven't sung this in forever! Kaito, let's duet Magnet!"
You have got to be kidding.
"Okay!" Kaito gets up and walks toward Miku, kissing her cheek and hugging her while she giggles. You and Len cringe. "Hey, you don't have to get uncomfortable while we're here, you two!" Kaito says, looking up.
"W-Why would we ask to share a room with you two if we weren't?" You chuckle nervously. "Silly Kaito, never uses his brain!"
"Or maybe he has a brain freeze from the ice cream!" Miku laughs, knocking Kaito's head playfully.
"H-Hey!" He whines. You and Len look at each other again, sharing sympathy. "Can we just sing the dang song already, Miku?"
"Of course!" She exclaims, she hands Kaito a mic and selects Magnet. The music starts and they get ready. Not willing to stop them from singing a love song, you take a bite from your food.

A slender flame burns at the edge of my heart,
Without warning, it bursts into a roaring passion...

While they sing, you compromise with Len. "Len, we should do a duet, too."
  "What? Why?"
"Because we'll be able to get over them together. Especially if we sing a song that reflects our feelings for them and what happened."
He looks as if he's about to protest, but then he ponders. Then he nods in agreement. "That actually makes sense. Okay, we'll do that." He smiles. You smile back.

I want to embrace you, I want to hear you say
That you know this isn't a mistake.

The two of you wait out as the couple sings Magnet. You wonder why she chose that song, though. Wasn't the song about unaccepted love? It was originally about lesbianism, after all. Yet, Miku and Kaito looked so into it. They were perfectly harmonizing and even dancing a bit to the song. You sip some of your drink, fighting the feelings you promised yourself you would get over as the two finished.

Now that we've touched, I can never go back,
But that's alright, because you are my everything in this world.

"Ah..." Miku sang the last note, holding it out and slurring to different ones. You notice Kaito take her hand and raise it, wrapping his fingers around it. She closes her hand, then when the last piano notes were played, they separated and wave their corresponding arms upward to the beat, their hands looking like butterflies. You could tell they were very much in love with each other. There was no point in trying to get Kaito back at this point. Not that that was one of your options.
  "Thanks, Aisu~" Miku thanked Kaito.
"Your welcome, my Spring Onion~" Kaito replies, kissing her tentatively. At this point you feel like ripping your hair out. Instead, you just tighten your grip on your glass, showing a supportive smile.
"You two were great!" You exclaim while Len claps for the both of you.
"Arigatou!" Miku turns to you and bows, Kaito following. "You wanna go next?" She asks.
"Yeah! And I'll duet with Len!" You face him and he nods, getting up with you.
"Oh? Are you two doing a love song as well?~" Miku asks, raising her eyebrows expectantly.
"Something like that." Len replies. You both walk to the TV and take the microphones from Kaito and Miku. The two go to sit as Len flips through the song book and you scroll through the song list on the TV. A particular song catches your attention.
  "Mirishira Romeo and Cinderella!?
They added that in?!" You exclaim.
  Len looks up. "Seriously?!"
"I think this is the newest program where they included fan songs." Kaito explains. "Is that the one you're going with?" He asks.
"I thought you said you were tired of Romeo and Cinderella?" Miku inquires.
"Well, not the Mirishira version. I like this one, Len. Can we do it?" You ask him, hoping he would take the hint.
He obviously does, as he gets up and nods again. "That's fine. It looks like the duet version has a male part that sings Oliver's version. Perfect!"
"Alright! Let's do this!" You say, indicating you understood. You both would sing how you were feeling towards your old loves. Hopefully, this would help. You hit select and got ready. You started off.

Setting all the words and feelings for you free from me tonight.
I'll let them go, but I just know,
  They never were really mine...

  Len sang the chorus.

  My Cinderella, Cinderella...
  My Cinderella, Cinderella...
  My Cinderella, Cinderella...
  My Cinderella, Cinderella...

You two continue, trying to release the feelings you once had for the two in front of you. You glance at Kaito occasionally, him giving a smile and thumbs up to indicate you were doing well. Miku seemed to be enjoying it, too.

But begging God not to keep us too far to reach from,
Towers to climb, I wait here for you,
Changing into people who may never meet again.

Now she's still so lovely with him who's bold and daring,
I know she can smile more freely now.

Look, on the bend of the road,
Walks down her Romeo... (Walks down Cinderella...)

You two were singing and dancing naturally, your moves representing sorrow, jealousy, and heartbreak. You hear Len singing, thinking he's doing great. You feel he's already losing his feelings for Miku.
Kaito was eating his ice cream again, smiling with Miku, who has the arm her boyfriend was holding the cup with wrapped around her. They were both really liking your performance! You make sure to keep going with attitude, succeeding as well, all the way to the end.

  ...Sayonara, Romeo! (Goodbye, Cinderella!)

Sayonara, Romeo, Romeo, Romeo... (Goodbye, Cinderella, Cinderella...)
Sayonara, Romeo, Romeo, Romeo... (Goodbye, Cinderella, Cinderella...)

Sayonara, Romeo, Romeo! (Goodbye, Cinderella, -derella!)

You smile at Len, finishing. But he has his eyes closed, and he opened his mouth again.

So as I leave the star-crossed lovers on their happy stage,
I step down, give my applause, and go another way.
When I lifted my eyes, standing right by my side,
  There was a crying Juliet...

He caresses your face as he sings that last line, "...A crying Juliet..." You had forgotten that Oliver wrote those extra lines in to give his version of the song a twist. As you two stand there, eyes connected, Miku and Kaito clapped.
"Woo-hoo!" Miku cried, actually shedding a tear. "Amazing, you guys!"
"Yeah, it was great! You two were really in sync!" Kaito added. For the first time, you looked at him, and didn't feel pain in your stomach anymore. You did it! You got over him!
"Thank you!" You beam. Len faces you. "Len, you two! Thanks!"
He smiled back. "Anytime!" You high five him and hand the mics back to the other two.
The rest of the day, the four of you sang out your favorite songs, you feeling free of the burden that ate at you for a long while. Before you knew it, it was sunset.
"OK, I think we've done enough singing." Kaito says, exhausted. "But we should do this again sometime!"
"Definitely!" You agree, showing no signs of mutual affection towards him anymore.
"Let's bring more people in next time!" Miku happily says.
"But we should probably keep Meiko and Haku away from the alcohol drinks..." Len jokes nonchalantly. Oh, so that WAS coming! All of you laugh, gather your things, and exit the bar. You say your goodbyes and separate, Miku and Kaito in one direction, you and Len in the other.
"I feel so relieved! I got over him!" You fist pump the air triumphantly.
"Me too! Miku's no longer in my mind anymore!" Len adds, stretching upwards.
"Isn't she technically in your mind now that you've said her name?" You say playfully. He slaps the back of your head lightly.
"Shut up! You know what I mean!"
"Miku's still on your mi-ind!~ Miku's still on your mi-ind!~" You tease.
"Why, you! Get over here!" He grabs for you but you dodge and run off to your house.
"Catch me if you can!~" You yell back, laughing all the way. Eventually Len catches up and it's a full on race home. When you see your house, you slow down and jump to a stop. "I win!"
"Oh, c'mon! We never even said it was a race!"
"'Course it was! And you know it, too!"
"Yeah, well...thanks for tonight. It really helped."
"You're the one who suggested the karaoke bar!"
"But you said we had to get over Miku and Kaito!"
"I guess we both had a part in the help." You smile warmly, opening the door. "G'night, Len!"
  "W-Wait!" Len grabs your arm.
"What? Don't tell me Miku's still on your mind!"
"N-No! Stop that!" He sighed. "You wanna see how Miku's not on my mind anymore?"
  "How?"
Len pulls on your arm and kisses you sweetly. It lasts for several seconds, and then he breaks it. "You're what's on my mind now."
  "Len..."
"'So as I leave the star-crossed lovers on their happy stage, I step down, give my applause, and go another way. When I lifted my eyes, standing right by my side, there was a crying Juliet...'" He speaks the lyrics from earlier, and you smile.
  "You're so corny! You giggle.
"Hey, c'mon! Give a guy a chance here!"
"So you're my Prince Charming, now?" You ask, as if you had to.
"Yep! And you're my Juliet!" He laughs.
"Dang it, Len! You're corniness is so cute!" You laugh back.
"I'll take that as a compliment." He utters, as he brings you in for another kiss.
"Let's write another story..." you say, before your lips connect.
"...That doesn't end in tragedy." Len finishes, as you two kiss a final time for the night.

  ~Fin~

Let me say this now: Any of my watchers who have lost all respect for me, go ahead and unwatch now. I deserve it for not uploading a whole lot of color swaps anymore and actually writing stuff again. OTL.

First reader insert. (That I uploaded, anyway.) BOO-YAH!
Man, second person is tricky. But I think I did pretty good! Especially since I haven't written stuff in awhile!

Romeo and Cinderella is my absolute favorite Vocaloid original song, and the Mirishira version is my favorite fan song. And then I heard Oliver's "Another" version...and I love it! So, seeing as I have been obsessed with Kagamine Len this last month, I felt I was flowing with inspiration to write again! And. I made this little gem, and I love how it came out! Not perfect, I know, but it's something!

Some notes (some spoilers below!):
-I don't do (y/n) n' stuff. I feel it kills immersion in the story.
-Yes, I used JubyPhonic's translyrics from her Mirishira cover. In your duet with Len, since he sings the Another version for his parts and the lyrics do fit the song pretty well, I felt it would be awkward if I used the literal translation while you sang with him.~ Have fun singing with your little banana~ Wait, what?
-I edited some lyrics to my liking. Each stanza of lyrics represents one person singing the lyrics. When there's parentheses, there's another person singing different lyrics at the same time. Oh, and I used "Sayonara, Romeo!" instead of Juby's "This is the end of us now, Romeo!/Fair thee well, my Romeo..." since I thought it sounded nicer. Just some edits that hopefully no one will mind~
-My interpretation of Mirishira Romeo and Cinderella is a little different from others. Some say Romeo and Juliet were lovers, then Romeo went for Cinderella. I see the literal translation and think Romeo and Juliet were best friends and Juliet was in love with him whether she knew it or not. Therefore, I used that to give motive to you lovely readers~

~Song Links!~ (In order of appearence):

Mirishira Romeo and Cinderella by Otouto no Ane

English Mirishira Romeo and Cinderella by JubyPhonic

Magnet sung by Miku and Luka

Another Mirishira Romeo and Cinderella sung by Oliver

All Vocaloids in this fan-made story belong to their respective owners. I don not claim rights to them nor to the songs referenced.
You, my dear Juliet, are now in possesion of your Prince Charming, though~ (Should we call him Prince Alexiel/Len? I'd rather reference reversed Story of Evil than call him "Charming." It just sounds awkward to me. xD)
